YOUR FIRST VISIT
WELCOME TO OUR ORTHODONTIC PRACTICE!
Dr Grant Hamilton-Ritchie would like to
welcome you to their practice. We feel it is a friendly place
to visit, we
enjoy being here and are sure that you will as well.
On your first visit with us we will
get to know you and your teeth. We will need to know what your main
concern is
in seeking Orthodontic treatment. Then we will start to look at ways to
correct any problems.
We will be able to give you an idea on what orthodontic treatment may be involved - or if you are ready for treatment at this stage.
Sometimes we may ask you back in a few months to monitor changes or growth. Observing growth change is a very important part of planning your treatment. This is why we like to see you as soon as you notice any problems. This may be all that is required on your first appointment.
There will be no charge for this appointment (at this stage) - we want people to seek our advise as soon as they notice a problem -Orthodontic treatment can start early - We will let you know when the best time is.
If we need to finalize an exact treatment plan for you, we will usually need to take detailed records, such as x-rays, photos, and models of the teeth. These records will help us evaluate exactly what treatment needs to be done, and when.
The head x-ray is used to measure the size of
the jaws and the position of the teeth.
The OPG x-ray is used to
determine the presence of all the teeth.
Study models are
used to provide an accurate cast of the teeth.
Photographs
provide information on facial aesthetics which is essential for a
proper orthodontic diagnosis
After reviewing our records we will ask you to come back and discuss in detail what treatment we feel is best for you. We will also let you know all options available. Please be sure that you ask questions. We will not start any treatment until everyone is completely informed. At this time we will give you a written quote and discuss fees and payment schedules to suit your budget..
Sam, Barry and their staff all believe that the Patient is the most important person in our practice. We concentrate totally on them to help them not only achieve the best smile possible, but by being informed they know they are an important part of the total process and they realize how much they contribute to the final result.
